Artistic Realization Technologies program was developed in the U.S.A. Tim Lefens invented A.R.T. and wrote about it in his book "Flying Colors." Some of the artists using this technique have become widely accepted in the professional art world.

Timeline
Summer 2004:

• The Laser Eagles development group planned how to make this happen for lots of people in Toronto.

Fall 2004:

• Demonstrations were held at various street festivals in Toronto, allowing visitors to participate.
• Weekly painting sessions took place over a 3 month period in 2004 at the All Souls Anglican Church in Toronto.

January 2005:

• Painting sessions started in January 2005 at the Assembly Hall in Etobicoke - a cultural facility operated by Toronto Parks and Recreation.
• 20 student volunteers from the Law Enforcement classes of Humber College, Lakeshore campus, are Laser Tracking, organizing, and making other contributions.

2005 - Present:

• Several Laser Eagle artists have sold their work at gallery showings.
• A second location for weekly sessions opened at Yorkdale Community Arts Centre
  
• Laser Eagles has participated in three grafitti cleanup projects: Croft Street, Richmond Street Laneway, and Sonya's Park

Funding
Initial funding for Laser Eagles included a $26,000 grant from Clarica/SunLife. We have received grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council.
